:: Willkommen Zum OKTOBERFEST ::

The travels of this weekend had only begun!

Next destination Munich, Germany for the 200th anniversary of OKTOBERFEST!
The 9 of us who had been planning this trip since the middle of the summer, left from the naples airport early friday morning and arrived in Munich around 5 pm after a long day of traveling.

Going in blind with no idea what to expect, Germany and the fest totally exceeded all my expectations! The country side coming in on the train was absolutely breathtaking. It reminded me a lot of home but everything intensified, the colors were incredible. Throughout the weekend we found the Germans and their culture to be very very very friendly and welcoming!

On saturday we were up and waiting in line to get into the major houses at 6 am... a very early morning but worth it. after waiting in line for an hour and a half we finally got in and to our surprise ran into a girl in our group Roxie's german friends that had been saving spots at their table for us!! We spent the day with them enjoying the German House beer, Polka, chants, songs, dancing, and of course food. When lunch time came around everyone order their own personal small chicken and german potato salad! Anyone who knows me well knows my love for mash potatoes.. believe it or not these were Better!!! sorry grandma :) When I told our new friends how good I thought the food was the shrugged and said "my mom makes better" hahah soo jealous.. sorry mom :)

The two girls I made really good friends with were Jules and Nathalia were from Wurzberg... they were awesome and helped me learn the german chants all afternoon. We met lots of other people throughout the weekend are other favorites were a group from Holland which we met outside the tents and the Hofbraugh beer stand.

We only had one full day there which was sad we had to take off sunday morning at 6:00 am to catch our flight out of Memmingin which was 70 miles outside the city, so another long day of travel. We landed in Pisa and made a pit stop into the city to see the leaning tower then continued onto rome. Felt good to be back in a familiar place again :)

Words can't do justice to how great of a weekend it was but hopefully some of these pictures will help also on facebook some of my friends have videos if you want to check them out!
